Bridgetown Nudes

In 2014, I was inspired by the photography of Spencer Tunick to create a series of nude images photographed in public places. While he photographs large groups of people, I decided to focus on individuals and small groups.

It was important to both me and my subjects that this project be approached from a perspective of body positivity. In fact, many of the subjects volunteered to pose as part of their self-love journey.

This series was photographed throughout the Portland, Oregon area during 2014–2015 and was exhibited as a solo show in 2015. Portland is nicknamed “Bridgetown” because of the many bridges that cross the Willamette River.

At some point, I plan to publish a zine or book featuring the series, as there are some great stories behind the shoots — many of which took place in public spaces, with all that those spaces have to offer.
